SELMA -- Richard Erwin Alford, 68, 8 Hinnant Road, died Thursday at Johnston County SECU Hospice Center.
Graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Baker's Chapel Church Cemetery in Smithfield, with the Rev. Samuel Eugene DeWitt officiating.
Born Nov. 9, 1943, he was the son of the late James Docus and Lillian Crenshaw Alford.
He was married to Helen Peedin Alford.
He is survived by three daughters.
Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 9 at Casey Funeral Home chapel.
