DUDLEY -- Betty Williams, 73, Dudley, went to be with her heavenly father Sunday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel "Red" and Lucy Forsythe, and the wife of Albert Williams Jr.

She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, where she loved to minister to people, and a former member of the Arrington Volunteer Fire Department ladies auxiliary.

She also had a passion and love for her family and friends, and painted pictures for them.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnny Sasser and Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.

The family will receive friends following the committal service.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, Michael Williams and wife, Sherry, of Bradenton, Fla.; three daughters, Debbie Basden and husband, Don, of Dudley, Patricia Martin and husband, Andy, of Goldsboro and Josie Andrews and husband, Steve ,of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, John Forsythe and wife, Anne, of Goldsboro; a sister, Harriett Andrews and husband, Robert, of Staunton, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Cindy Creech.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emmaus Baptist Church, 714 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, N.C., 28333
