Jimmie Davis, 71, 508 E. Walnut St., was born April 16, 1939, in Alabama. He died Tuesday at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill.
Funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home Celebration of Life Chapel. Burial will be conducted privately.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the home, where they will also assemble following the services at the funeral home.
