JESSE C. TYNDALL

LAGRANGE -- Jesse Carol Tyndall, 71, died Feb. 21, 2011, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 13, 1939, son of Roy and Daisy Harrison Tyndall.

Following graduation from high school, he entered the United States Army, where he served four years.

Jesse retired after 33 years of working with Greene County as public works director.

Following his retirement, he was elected and served as a county commissioner.

Jesse was an avid fisherman, and in younger years had enjoyed scuba diving.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at Mewborn Family Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Tyndall and Buck Tyndall, and a sister, Jean Tyndall Smith.

His surviving family includes his wife, Brenda Sue Johnson Tyndall; daughter, Rhonda Tyndall Creech and husband, Jerry, of Snow Hill; a son, Ronnie Tyndall and wife, Sara, of LaGrange; stepdaughter, Darlene Hinojosa and husband, Alfredo, of Snow Hill; stepson, Duane Stallings of Kinston; sisters, Geneva Moore of Vanceboro, Carolyn Barrow of Snow Hill and Catherine Adams of Kinston; brothers, Cleveland Tyndall of LaGrange, Melton Tyndall of LaGrange and Floyd Tyndall of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Michael Creech and wife, Samantha, Casey Creech, Gunner Tyndall, Damion Hinojosa, Julia Sue Hinojosa, Eric Hinojosa and Cody Stallings; great-grandchildren, Michael Navejas and Logan Creech; and his faithful companions and pets, Junior and Sissy.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill, and other times at the home of Jerry and Rhonda Creech, 800 Creech Road, Snow Hill.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
