TONYA HEATH GARNETT

GARNER -- Tonya Heath Garnett, 43, Garner, peacefully passed away at Wake County Hospice Center Jan. 18, 2011, with her family at her side.

She was the daughter of Kaky Tillett Linthicum and stepdaughter of Ben Linthicum of Raleigh.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Taylor Garnett of Raleigh; brother, Christian Heath of Raleigh; nephew, Tillett Heath; and her fiancé, Braxton Wood, of Garner. She is also survived by her aunt, Debbie Harris and husband, Keith, of Goldsboro; an uncle, Bob Tillet and wife, Terry, of Goldsboro; grandmother, Marye Blake of Goldsboro, and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Daniel A. Tillett.

She was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, as well as the University of North Dakota with a degree in computer science.

Tonya will fondly be remembered for her great love of cooking and growing flowers -- roses were her favorites.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Eugene Hartley officiating, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the many people who gave so much care and showed compassion to Tonya during her short illness. They include Rex Hospital and Wake County Hospice Center of Raleigh. Words are not enough to express our gratitude to each of you through your outstanding work. Our family has been deeply touched by your many acts of love.
