Michael Eugene Israel, 54, died Nov. 17 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Nash County, he was the son of the late Arthur E. "Gene" Israel and Mary Hunter Cox, and was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Israel.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. James "Bo" Mullins officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Jennifer Israel, 107 Sweet Water Drive in LaGrange.
Mr. Israel is survived by three sons, Michael, Zachary, and James Israel all of Goldsboro; a daughter, Jennifer Israel of LaGrange; three sisters, Larisa Deaver of Kinston, Patricia Puzzo and husband, Bob, of Goldsboro, and Karen Landen of Cary; an aunt, Arlene Lucas of Selma; two grandchildren, Alexis and Mason Casey; along with several nieces and a nephew and special friends, Judy Hughes of Goldsboro and Pat McCarty of Goldsboro.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Israel.
