RUTH GRIER FOUTS

Ruth Grier Fouts, 100, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Ruth was born in Gaston County Sept. 16, 1910, to the late Daniel Durone Grier and Florence Falls Grier. She was married to the late Heron Cyrus Fouts.
After a teaching career in Gastonia, N.C., she retired in 1972.
She moved to Goldsboro in 1985, and attended the First Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Fouts will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Goldsboro, N.C., Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at 2 p.m.
Following the service, the family will receive friends in the church common room.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Kay Fouts Cooke, and son-in-law, Richard Thomas Cooke of Goldsboro; and her grandsons, Charles Richard Cooke and his wife, Hannah Bason Cooke, and Jeffrey Hamilton Cooke of Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534-1728.
