JOANN ROSE SAWKIW

JoAnn Rose Sawkiw, 66, passed away Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
JoAnn was born in Wayne County Jan. 6, 1944, to the late Charles Brantley Rose and Lois Farmer Rose. She was married to the late Michael John Sawkiw.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Heather Fitch, 512 Buck Swamp Road in Goldsboro.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Heather Fitch and fiancé, Dan Weatherington, of Goldsboro; her sons, Michael Sawkiw and wife, Wendy, of Rosewood, Scott Sawkiw and wife, Sabrina, of Pikeville, Shawn Sawkiw and friend, Stephanie, of Goldsboro and Brian Sawkiw of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-law, Toni Sawkiw Basden of Goldsboro; her son-in-law, Billy Fitch of Goldsboro; her sister, Faye Rose of Goldsboro; her brother, Larry Rose of Utah; her grandchildren, Meghan, Tori, Billy, Shannon, Chelsea, Scottie, Christeen, Dylan, Hailey, Britney, Austin, Jacob and Angelina; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Sawkiw, and her brothers, Wayne, Charles and Doug Rose.
