VANCEBORO -- Mrs. Myrtle Anderson Summerell, 84, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Wilkerson Funeral chapel in Vanceboro, officiated by the Rev. Mike Scott. Burial will follow in Vanceboro Cemetery.
Mrs. Summerell, a native of Lenoir County, had lived her early life in the Vanceboro community. She lived in Goldsboro for a number of years, and had made her home back in the Vanceboro community since 1963.
Mrs. Summerell was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Summerell; son, Malcolm Ray Williams; sister, Frances "Peggy" Clayton; and brother, Marshall Anderson.
She is survived by her sons, John H. Williams of Kinston, N.C., and Mack J. Williams and wife, Connie, of Vanceboro, N.C.; daughters, Lorraine Sutton and husband, Vayden, of Wilmington, N.C., Kathleen Howard of Goldsboro, N.C., and Civeleen Arrington and husband, Raymond, of Vanceboro, N.C.; sister, Dorothy Anderson of Askins, N.C.; brothers, Charlie Anderson and Billy Anderson all of Vanceboro, N.C., and Larry Anderson of New Jersey; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro, and at other times at the home of Civeleen and Raymond Arrington.
