FOUR OAKS -- Evelean Lee Powell, 67, 4218 Harper House, passed away Saturday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rose and Graham Funeral chapel in Benson, with the Rev. Jeffery Hayes, the Rev. Virgil Murphy and the Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mrs. Powell was born June 23, 1942, in Johnston County to the late Howard and Myrtle J. Lee.
She worked for Southern Produce in Faison for many years, and worked side by side with her husband on their farm.
Mrs. Powell was a member of New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Edgar Powell; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Robin Powell of Four Oaks and Keith and Michelle Powell of Four Oaks; five grandchildren, Justin Powell, Joey Powell, Caitlyn Powell, Phillip Powell and Brooke Britt; a great-granddaughter, Kyndall Powell; brother and sister-in-law, John Leonard and Elaine Lee of Benson; sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Ralph Adams of Four Oaks; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson tonight from 6 to 9, and at other times, at the home.
Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be made to New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 234, Newton Grove, N.C., 28366.
