Mattie Futrell Daughtry, 95, passed away Saturday at Britthaven Nursing Home.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Heber and Mattie Jinnett Futrell and the widow of David Daughtry. Mrs. Daughtry began her work career with Paramount Theatre and later was a floral designer with Rose's Florist for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Rose of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jo Ann Grant, Jackie Rose, and Jeff Rose and wife, Lou, all of Goldsboro; great-grandchildren, Melissa Roberts and husband, Kevin, Amanda Lucas and husband, Jamie, Jay Rose, and Jackson and William Rose, all of Goldsboro, Josh Rose, Robert Rose and wife, Nicole, and Nicholas Rose of Massachusetts; great-great-grandchildren, Mc Kayla Smith, Sawyer Grant, and Addison Lucas of Goldsboro, Jackson Robert Rose of Massachusetts.
Mrs. Daughtry was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband by a son, David C. Daughtry Jr.; son-in-law, Jack Rose; and sister, Mamie Taylor.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Jean Rose, 1611 E. Mulberry St., Goldsboro.
