BROOKLYN PARK, Md. -- James A Wadsworth, 88, passed away at Harbor Hospital Wednesday.

The funeral will be held at Peace Lutheran Church Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Meadowridge Memorial Park.

Jim was born in Goldsboro July 2, 1921, to the late Daniel Henry Wadsworth and Callie Heath McClenny.

He enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II and the Korean War as a sergeant.

Mr. Wadsworth retired from the Baltimore City Jail as a guard after 17 1/2 years of service. He also worked at Schmidt's Bakery as a breadman and was also an insurance salesman.

He loved the Baltimore Orioles and baseball and enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret E. Wadsworth and Doris Mae Wadsworth; devoted father of Margaret "Peggy" Hobbs and Thomas S. Carter; dear brother of Carl Wadsworth, Donald McClenny and the late Eugene Wadsworth; loving grandfather of Wadie, J.C. and Scott Hobbs and Leslie Pollock; and is also survived by five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at the family-owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services at 1 2nd Avenue S.W. (at Crain Highway) in Glen Burnie from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
