Gregory Earl "Greg" Saylor, 48, Stevens Mill Road, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jim Willoughby and pastor Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Wayne County, he attended Emmaus Baptist Church.
Greg was a former supervisor with S.T. Wooten Co. and for more than 20 years, he was a subcontractor for Bellsouth.
He was a loving fiancé, son, brother, father and grandfather, and he enjoyed building and repairing things for the ones he loved.
Greg is survived by his parents, Thurman and Annette Saylor of Dudley; a son, Thomas Saylor of Glen Allen, Va.; a daughter, Brandy Saylor Wallace and husband, Johnny, of Pikeville; his fiancé, Debbie Miller of Mount Olive; two brothers, Charles Saylor and wife, Lisa, of Dudley and Jeff Saylor and wife, Kim, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Lynn Stephens and husband, Randy, of Beaufort and Vicky Stamatis of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Jacob Seth Wallace, Caleb Asher Wallace, Benjamin Rae Wallace and Kenan Gregory Wallace; and a very special friend, Albert "Woody" Leonard of Goldsboro.
Family members will greet friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of his parents, Thurman and Annette Saylor, 767 Emmaus Church Road in Dudley.
