Audrey Elizabeth Garris Todd Smith of Somervale Lane passed away Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral will be held Friday at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro, with pastor Kelvin Gurley officiating. A family graveside service will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.
Audrey was born in Wayne County June 15, 1931, to the late Joseph Henry Garris and Clara Pate Garris.
She was a graduate of Meredith College.
She is survived by her husband, John T. Smith; a son, Julian Dughi Todd III and his wife, Gail, of Goldsboro; three daughters, Audrey Teresa Todd of Beaufort, Nancy Julianne Thompson of Raleigh and Becky Todd Grady of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Henry Garris, and a sister, Geraldine Cuneo.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6 until 6:45 p.m.
