Died Jan. 10, 2010

DUDLEY -- Retired Air Force Technical Sgt. Kenneth Manfred Snell, 73, 118 Barnwell Road, died Sunday.

A service to celebrate Kenneth's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Allen Strickland officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Newstead, N.Y., he was the son of the late Kenneth G. Snell and Emelda Belanger Snell.

Kenneth was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and 40 et 8.

Mr. Snell was on the State Baseball Hall of Fame committee and was associated with American Legion baseball.

He was retired from Acme United.

Kenneth served his country in the United States Air Force and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Airman's Medal.

Surviving is his wife, Laura Morrison Snell; daughter, Sandra Lape and husband, Robert, of Florida; sisters, Arlene Jones of Holland, N.Y., Kathleen Williams of Lyndon, N.Y., and Joyce Weed of Tupelo, Miss.; grandchildren, Brandon and Brooke Lape; and a great-grandson, Christian Lape.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Snell was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Snell, and his first wife, Louise Snell.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the American Legion and 40 et 8.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
