KEVIN W. BLANCHARD SR.

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. -- Kevin Wright Blanchard Sr., 47, husband of Becky Bishop Blanchard, passed away Monday.

The relatives and friends of Kevin Blanchard Sr. are invited to attend his mass of Christian burial Friday in Christ Our King Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Prayers of final commendation and farewell will be in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.

Kevin was born April 13, 1962, in Charleston, S.C., son of Charles Blanchard and Betty Farmer Blanchard.

He attended Newberry College and was a volunteer for Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department as a coach for t-ball, soccer, basketball, baseball, football and the Diamond Warriors program. He also volunteered as a coach for Christ Our King junior varsity football and varsity football.

He was a brilliant and valiant fighter who gave everything 110 percent from cutting precious firewood to electrical work to coaching, but most of all, in loving KB. He always told KB to do the right thing because that was their middle name. He never gave up until the moment he left this life to start on his new life.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Blanchard of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; son, Kevin "KB" Wright Blanchard Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; parents, Charles and Betty Blanchard of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; brothers, Comar Blanchard and his children, Chase, Grace and Morgan of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Michael Blanchard and his wife, Beth, and their children, Garland and Parker of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Mark Blanchard and his children, Amanda, Holly, Heidi and Cassie of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Regan Blanchard and his wife, Tricia, and their children, Little Regan and Elizabeth of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Jobeth Perot and her husband, Chris, and their children, Trey and Riley of Charleston, S.C.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and David Rowland of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; niece, Mandy Von See and her husband, Sam, and their children, Rowland and Otto of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and niece, Kimberly Rowland of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. He is also survived by Skittles, the family pet, therapist and constant caregiver.

The family will receive friends Thursday in J. Henry Stuhr Mount Pleasant Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m.
