LAKE WYLIE, S.C. -- Carol Louise Stainback, formerly of Goldsboro, died Tuesday at Lake Wylie Assisted Living.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake Wylie Assisted Living, 4877 Charlotte Hwy. in Lake Wylie, S.C. An additional memorial service will be held at a later date in Ms. Stainback's hometown of Goldsboro.
Mrs. Stainback was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Miami, Fla., to the late Walter Draper and Mamie Louise Carr Herring.
Survivors are her daughter, Rea Jean Price and husband, Danford Lee Price, of Sylva; grandchildren, Christopher Lee and Jennifer Rea of Jacksonville, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Kaitlyn, Darrian, Alexander Paul and Alexander Ray of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Douglas Wayne Stainback and wife, Sherry Lynn Stainback, of Charlotte; and grandchildren, Johnny, David, Melissa and Adam Stainback of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Gordon Stainback, and grandson, Danford "Danny" Lee Price Jr.
M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Lake Wylie, S.C., is serving the family of Mrs. Stainback.
