WILLIAM J. SANDER

MOUNT OLIVE -- William James Sander, 53, passed away Tuesday at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Whitely Church, 188 Whitely Church Road in Princeton, with pastor Andy Stovall presiding. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Stolte, Andrew Stolte, Timothy Stolte, Albert Sander, Erike Fowlkes, Logan Zimmerman, Jeff Van Graove, John Lemon, Zeb Poindexter, Michael Billdt, Leo Garcia, Art Beltran and Jim Sturgeon.

Bill was born at Great Lakes Naval Training Center March 14, 1956, to Henry William and Mona Lou Sander.

Bill and Kari were married at Faith Luthern Church May, 26,1979, in Yuma, Ariz. He and his wife were inseparable; they did everything together, including developing a household that embraced laughter and accepted all who ventured into their humble home.

Bill retired in August as quality control/saftey manager from MW-All Star Joint Venture. He bowled in leagues as a young man and then returned at age 50 to bowl his first 600 series along his son, Matthew, who shared many of the same interests and goals as his father.

His youngest son, Michael, always enjoyed the company of his biggest fan, his father, through the years of varisty football and Michael's achievement of state wrestling champion.

Billy, his oldest, took pleasure in his father's pride in his singing accomplishments and his encouragement to reach new scholastic heights.

Madison, his soon-to-be-born granddaughter, brought him great joy as he already called her his little princess. Bill always highly respected women and taught his sons to do the same.

Surviving are his wife, Kari Lynn Sander; son, William Sander and wife, Mary; son, Matthew Sander and wife, Stephanie; son; Michael Sander; granddaughter, Madison (soon to be born) all of Wayne County; father, Henry William Sander; brother, Larry and wife, Marcia Sander; sister, Kathey MacBeth; brother, Kim and wife, Anna Sander; mother-in-law, Oretta Ness; sister-in-law Kolleen and husband, Bruce Stolte; uncle, Edward Badger; and many nephews and nieces.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Mona Lou Sander, and his father-in-law, Gerald Deane Ness.
