LOSSIE B.K. MEWBORN

Lossie Belle King Mewborn, 62, 2008 Church St., died Sunday at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 600 11th St. in Goldsboro, with brother Harvey Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park south, U.S. 117 south.

She is survived by her husband, Allen D. Mewborn; six children, Warrant Officer Floyd (Iris) King Jr. of South Mills, Curtis (Sita) King of Vienna, Austria, Allen Mewborn of Seattle, Wash., Carlos Mewborn of Toledo, Ohio, Jeffrey King and Yolanda Alston of Goldsboro; four sisters, Doris Carr of New Haven, Conn., Magelene (Paul) Dunn of Kinston, Mattie King and Helen Wiley of Goldsboro; two brothers, Robert "Chuck" (Edna) King and Alonzo "Pooh-Pooh" (Gwen) King of Goldsboro; 18 grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a goddaughter, Rebecca Barrett of Goldsboro; 14 nieces; 10 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The body may be viewed Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St. in Goldsboro. The family will assemble at 503 3rd St. in Goldsboro one hour prior to the funeral procession.
