BETTY L.T. SMITH

MOUNT OLIVE -- Betty Lou Taylor Smith, 73, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Mickey Whitfield and the Rev. Josh Whitfield officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County July 16, 1936, to the late James Leonard Taylor Sr. and Nora Corrine Dail Taylor.
She had been employed with the Pizza Hut in Goldsboro, and while living in Mount Olive she was involved with the senior citizens painting class.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Gwen Vaughn of Goldsboro and Vickie Wallace and husband, Butch, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Denise V. Adkins and husband, James, of Goldsboro, Emily Barnes of Goldsboro and Deanna Wallace-Bias and husband, Bryan, of Goldsboro; her great-grandchildren, Layla, Darrion and Justin Adkins, Courtney Barnes and Wallace Smith; her sisters, Peggy Chalk of Mount Olive and Connie Yandall of Texas; and her brother, James Taylor Jr. of Mount Olive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two beloved grandchildren, Donald Bryan Vaughn and baby boy Gabriel Tyler Lampson.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Seymour Funeral Home.
