FAYE J. THOMAS

Faye Johnson Thomas, 65, passed away on Friday at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Revs. Dann Patrick, Rex Evans and Fred Carraway officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Faye was born in Onslow County on April 17, 1944 to the late Lillian and Andrew “Andy” Johnson. She was married to the late Leo Thomas Sr. Faye worked with her late husband in the family business, Thomas Guns and Knives for 44 years and they were members of the National Rifle Association for over 14 years. Faye was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 24 years.
Faye is survived by her children, Leo Thomas Jr., Leland Thomas, Teresa Faye Hackett and Larry Thomas and wife, Sarah, all of Goldsboro; her sisters, Joyce Griffin and husband, James Floyd, of Trenton, Phyllis Thomas of LaGrange, Margaret Daniels and husband, Ronnie, of Deep Run and Doris Arnold and husband, Robert, of Swan Quarter; her brother, Roy Johnson and wife, Michelle, of Deep Run; seven grandchildren, Jenne Leigh Coffey and husband, Will, of Chesapeake, Va., Melanie Faye Myers and husband, Josh, of Goldsboro, Zach Mangum of Goldsboro, Dara Thomas and Josh Thomas of Weatherford, Texas, Elizabeth Ann Thomas of Cambridge, England and Matthew Thomas of Goldsboro; a very special friend and son, Jay Hartzog of Goldsboro; her uncle, Howard Johnson and wife, Shirley, of Deep Run; and several nieces, nephews and very special friends.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930 B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834, or to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends today from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
