James Earl Bass of Royall Avenue passed away Monday morning at home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with visitation afterward.
Mr. Bass was born in Wayne County on Aug. 7, 1944, to the late Henry and Dorothy Allen Bass. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by three sisters, Frances Eder and her husband, George, of New Bern, Rose Hoch and her husband, Larry, of Marion and Brenda Cox and her husband, Andy, of Fremont; and one aunt, Linda Stroud of Albertson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Disabled American Veterans, 112 Patrick St., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
