NORMAN S. BARNES

Norman Shelton "Bootsie" Barnes, 59, passed away on Saturday morning at his home.
Norman was born in Wilson County on Nov. 22, 1949, to the late Ben A. Barnes and Edith Ruth Tosto Barnes. He had served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and had owned and operated a construction company for many years.
Graveside services with military honors will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating.
Norman is survived by his sisters, LaNell Cobb of Goldsboro, Donna Morris of Goldsboro, Nancy Williamson of Goldsboro, Carolyn Moore and husband, Levy of Franklin Springs, Ga., and Frances Pridgen and husband Elbert of Franklin Springs, Ga.; his niece, Michelle Cobb of Goldsboro; his nephews, Chad Cobb of Goldsboro, Wayne Pridgen of Mount Olive, Lee Moore of Franklin Springs, Ga., and Daniel Moore of Franklin Springs, Ga.; four great-nieces and three great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Milon Alton Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 112 Patrick St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530 or the charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of LaNell Cobb, 209 Stratford Road, Goldsboro.
