DONNIE H. LANCASTER

Donnie Hugh Lancaster, 64, slipped into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

He was born March 1, 1945, in Wayne County to the late Dewey Oscar Lancaster and Elizabeth Gardner Lancaster.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Lancaster, of Goldsboro; two daughters, Tammy Diorio and husband, Vincent, of Goldsboro and Sharon Tittle and husband, Don, of Dudley; one son, James Lancaster and wife, Vickie, of Goldsboro; four sisters, Carolyn Pate, Patsy Bass and husband, Hugh, Linda Hinkson and husband, James, and Mary Sasser and husband, Joe, all of Goldsboro; one brother, Oliver Lancaster and wife, Bonnie, of Greenville; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Victoria Diorio, Taylor Tittle, Amber Lancaster and Shaina Pitsenbarger, all of Goldsboro; and one great-grandchild, Ashlyn Lambert of Goldsboro.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Evans Webber.

Mr. Lancaster enlisted in the U.S. Army March 25, 1965, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

His hobbies included fishing and tinkering on things and he was known for being a very hard worker.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home of Tammy Diorio at 205 Brookwood Drive, Goldsboro.
