Rhodes Funeral Home Inc. management and staff sorrowfully announce the passing of a dedicated employee, John Thomas Lewis, 68, 1517 Hart Circle, Saturday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A homegoing celebration will held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Delight United Holy Church, 976 LaGrange Road, LaGrange, with elder Devin C. Pickett officiating. He will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park.
He was born on May 28, 1940, to the late Willie Lewis and Ruby Smith Lewis.
He leaves precious memories with his wife, Helene N. Lewis of the home; two daughters, Devorah A. Covington, (Phillip) of New York and Toyia Ayers (Raymond) of Goldsboro; two sisters, Gertrude Daye and Lillian Covington; two brothers, Joe E. Lewis (Johnine) and Ben E. Lewis of Goldsboro; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
There will be an inspirational wake from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel. Sympathetic expressions may be posted at www.rhodesfuneralhome.net.
