GERALDINE F. HICKS

PIKEVILLE -- Geraldine Forehand Hicks, 91, 865 Airport Road, died Monday.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hollowell, the Rev. Rose Hicks and the Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Entomb-ment will follow in the Pikeville Cemetery.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late William Bryant and Ada Smith Forehand and the widow of William Casper Hicks. Mrs. Hicks was a lifetime member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Methodist Women and was a former Sunday school teacher. Her hobbies were house plants, baby dolls, rooster collections, and she was an honorary member of the Top Hatter Dance Group, but the love of her life was her devotion and love for her family.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by her daughter, Joy Hicks Williams and husband, Carl V. "Bubba" Williams, of Pikeville; sons, Ray Hicks and wife, the Rev. Rose Hicks, of Pikeville, and Jimmy David Hicks and wife, Patty Hicks, of Pikeville; a daughter-in-law, Susan Thornton and husband, Bud, of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Hope Potter and husband, Ed, of Goldsboro, Robin Hicks of Goldsboro, Ray Hicks Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Goldsboro, Melody H. James and husband, Phil, of Goldsboro, William Frank Hicks Jr. of Pikeville, Larry Hicks and wife, Melissa, of Snow Hill, Garry Hicks and wife, Vickie, of Pikeville, Frances H. Manderville and husband, Mark, of Pikeville, Jim Hicks and Will Hicks of Pikeville; and her great-grandchildren, Blake Howell, Faith and Jonathan Dotter, Rebecca and Joanna James, Destiny and Susan Hicks, Hannah and Frank Manderville.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her sons, William Frank Hicks and Baby Boy Hicks; and her grandson, William Dean Hicks.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ray Hicks Jr., William Frank Hicks Jr., Garry Hicks, Larry Hicks, Jim Hicks, and Will Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Blake Howell, Jonathan Dotter and Frank Manderville.
Flowers are welcome, or the family request memorials be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 10, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
