FRANK R. SMILEY

Frank Ray Smiley of Goldsboro passed away March 5, 2009.
A celebratory memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash St., on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Drew Clark and the Rev. William Kyle officiating.
Born in Wilson in 1925, to Richard and Ora Smiley, Frank graduated from the University of North Carolina and the University of Pennsylvania. He married Margaret ("Toni") Handley of Goldsboro in 1945.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Toni, and their four children and their families: Randa and her husband, Tom Hopkins, their sons, Robert and Steven and their families, all of Hickory; Marilyn and her husband, Paul Hartig, their daughters, Julia and Kara, of Boulder, Colo.; Tona and her husband, Jeff Leitson, and their sons, Brian and Sam, of Waterford, Mich.; and Rick Smiley and his wife, Christi, and their daughter, Reagan, of Mount Airy.
Frank also leaves a brother, Glaucus Smiley, and his wife, Ethel; and a sister-in-law, Doris Smiley, all of Wilson.
