Mr. Milford Ira Brown, 58, lovingly known by his family and close friends as "Bud," 402 E. Beech St., was called by our Heavenly Father to his final resting place on Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Central Heights United Holy Church, 3010 Thoroughfare Road, with Elder Christine McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park North Cemetery, 1191 Old Grantham Road. A viewing will be held Tuesday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., from 1 to 7 p.m. A wake will be conducted Tuesday evening at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 6 to 7 with the family present to receive other family members and friends. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of Ms. Claudette Hocutt, 1608 Edgerton St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Bud was born in Wayne County on May 6, 1950, to the late Johnnie Brown and Pauline Williams Brown.

Milford attended Wayne County Public Schools and worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital and Goldsboro City Schools.

His daughter, Teresa Brown, also preceded him in death.

Milford leaves to celebrate his life three brothers, Sylvester Brown of Dudley, Broadie Williams of Goldsboro, and Melvin Williams of Clinton; four sisters, Arletha Dixon, Claudette Hocutt, Doris Atkinson, all of Goldsboro, and Darlene Wright of Baltimore, Md.; six children; one daughter, Patricia Grant of Goldsboro; five sons, Keith, Lewis, Johnathan, Benjamin and Timothy Brown, all of Fayetteville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and a very special lady, Grace Jones.

The family will assemble Wednesday, one hour prior at the residence, 1608 Edgerton St., in preparation for the funeral procession.
