Lavern Kornegay, 52, 241 Eastway Drive, Charlotte, died Thursday at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ Church in Fremont. Burial will follow in Coley Cemetery, Pikeville.
She is survived by her mother, Lois Kornegay and a daughter.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at 604 S. Goldsboro St., Fremont, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
