Matthew Smith, 60, of 3950 County Road, LaGrange died Tuesday at Durham Veterans Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday at noon at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Old Mill Cemetery.
His memory is treasured by his wife, Peggy Dozier Smith of Mount Olive; daughter, Rasheeda Deneen Smith; two sisters, Linda Moses of Fayetteville, Theresa Smith of Holly Ridge; one brother, Benjamin and wife, Janice, of LaGrange; one aunt, Annie Bell Carraway of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today from 2 until 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at the residence, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
