FRANKLINTON -- It is with great sadness that the family of Karen W. Dale, 52, publishes notification of her death on March 3, 2009.
A memorial service followed by family visitation will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home and Cremation, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.

She leaves behind her cherished children, daughter, Laura Whitney Dale of Franklinton; son, Pvt. Joshua S. Dale of Schoefield Barracks, Hawaii; mother, Laura N. Walters of Wake Forest; sister, Julia W. Takacs and husband, Larry, of Youngsville; brother, J.E. Walters Jr. and wife, Betty, of Smithfield; niece, Stefanie W. Nichols of Witchita, Kan.; and nephew, Will Walters of Goldsboro. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Julius E. Walters Sr.
The family honored Karen's requests for cremation and her ashes will be scattered at the beach. Each life passes through its own phases and seasons. Karen's favorites were those filled with warmth, that of a bright sunlit summer day, fishing at a country pond, the heat of the sand and roar of the ocean, a fire in the fireplace, the comfort provided by a warm soft blanket, and most of all the warmth of ordinary family events and celebrations where the sun always shone in her smile and her heart. Life's struggles are done. It's her time to bask in the sun.
