Johnnie Franklin Mitchell, 85, died Sunday at Life Care Hospital in Rocky Mount.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was the son of the late Viola Taylor and Dock Tate Mitchell and was the husband of Margaret Creech Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a veteran having served in the US Army during World War II.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Mitchell is survived by a son, Johnny Wayne Mitchell of Goldsboro and two granddaughters, Michele and Cindy Mitchell, both of Goldsboro.
