Deborah Walker Matthews, 52, died Tuesday at her residence in Gray Court, S.C.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bailey and the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Born March 2, 1956, in Petersburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Phinnie and Edna Taylor Walker.
Mrs. Matthews is survived by her husband, Tony Matthews; two sons, Scottie and wife, Kelly, and Jason and wife, Angela; granddaughters, Shannon, Anna and Kylie; a grandson, Garick; brother Sonny Bjork; father and mother in law, George and Ruby Thornton; brother and sisters in law, Lavon and Pam Matthews, Stan and Barbara Matthews, Joel and Mawan Bunn; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Kay Dawson.
Family members will greet friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of George and Ruby Thornton, 303 Wanda Drive, Goldsboro.
Flowers are welcome, and memorial gifts in memory of Deborah Matthews may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
