Louise Benton Snipes, 83, a resident of the Pines, passed away Wednesday morning.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. James Frasher offic-iating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Louise was born in Wayne County on Aug. 31, 1925, to the late Samuel Benton and Katie Andrews Benton. She was married to the late Charles Edward Snipes. Louise retired from General Electric and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Louise is survived by her children, Charles N. Snipes and wife, Joyce, of Goldsboro, Ronnie C. Snipes and wife, Ann, of Kernersville and Carol Ray Skipper and husband, Chester, of Gainesville, Fla.; her grandchildren, Rhonda Thurmond, Jane Carraway, Eric Snipes, Judy Holloman, Ryan Snipes, Randall Snipes and Edward Ray; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Snipes Fowlkes and husband, William, of Clayton.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry E. Snipes, and her granddaughter, Tammy Louise Snipes.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 1715 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Louise's children would like to express their sincere appreciation to the family and friends who showed love and care to their mother during her journey of declining health. May God bless each of you.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Charles N. Snipes, 204 Lake Ridge Drive, Goldsboro.
