JIMMY K. SMITH

Jimmy Kent Smith, 57, Dudley, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Millard officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Chester and Sallie Allen Smith. A member of Pikeville Baptist Church, he was a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in both Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Crystal Charmane Coghill Smith; two sons, Chris Smith of Alabama and Matt Smith of Antarctica; a daughter, Jenny West of Mount Olive; four brothers, Tom Smith of Pikeville, Tim Smith of Fremont, Glenn Smith of Fayetteville and Charlie Smith of Kenly; three sisters, Judy McBeth of Fairborn, Ohio, Sandy McCullen of Benson and Cindy Stevens of Goldsboro; and four grandchildren.

Family members will greet friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Cindy and Ed Stevens, 2977 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro.
