PEGGY W. BROWN

Died Feb. 6, 2009

Peggy Wooten Brown, 70, of 306 S. Claiborne St., died Friday night at Wake Medical Center. A native of Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Luther Stivers and Pet Musgrave Wooten. Peggy was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and Daughters of the American Revolution, and was an avid Democrat.

A service to celebrate the life of Peggy will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with Gene Carpenter, celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Tom Brown; daughter, Martha Thomas Brown of LaQuinta, Calif.; sister, Anne Wooten Tilley and husband, David Ronald Tilley, of Durham; brother, L.S. Wooten Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Swansboro; and nephew, David Wooten Tilley of Raleigh.

The family requests memorials be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 200 N. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the common room at the church.
