SAFORNIA A. HINES

Safornia Ann Hines, 49, lovingly known by her family and church friends as "Cookie," of 900 Newsome St., Goldsboro, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at 2 p.m., at New Stoney Hill Holy Church, 1003 Poplar St., with Dr. Howard McNair officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery North, 2911 Old Grantham Road.

Cookie was born Aug. 27, 1959 in Goldsboro to the late Polly Ann Christine Hines and Charlie Holly.

She was educated in the public schools of Wayne County and was a member of New Stoney Hill Holy Church.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 1 to 6 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, a wake will be conducted from 5 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, with the family present to receive other family members and friends.

Safornia leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Michael Jay Hines and wife, Debra of Goldsboro, and Charles E. Hines and wife, Angela, of Southern California; three nieces and three nephews, Shaquitta R. Hines, Michael Jay Hines Jr. and Marchae' J. Hines, all of Ashville, Chante Marie Neal, Keenan Leigh Wright and Krista Lee Ann Hines, all of Southern California; one great nephew, Christian M. Hines of Ashville; six uncles, Leslie B. Hines of Goldsboro, Jesse Charles Hines and wife, Louise, of Newport News, Va.. Montana Hines of Wilson, Henry Phillips of Brocton, Mass., Willie Lewis and wife, Marian, and James H. Lewis of Goldsboro; seven aunts, Edna Jean Lewis and Alma Gills of Goldsboro, Geneva Benton and husband, Jimmy, of Hezebah, Ga., Sharon Phillips, Tara Phillips, Tina Phillips and Essie Phillips all of Mass.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Edna Jean Lewis, 211 S. Virginia St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
