SEVEN SPRINGS -- Gene Autry Sullivan, 69, 795 Highway 903, passed away Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held this evening at 7 at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Sullivan was born in Wayne County on Nov. 22, 1939. He attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston while his health permitted.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Sullivan; one son, Braston Eugene Sullivan of Faison; two daughters, Debra Jean Sullivan of Mar Mac and Teresa Ann Tyner and her husband, Craig of Rosewood; three brothers, Walter Minshew and his wife, Mary of Goldsboro, Clay Minshew of Grantham and Hubert Minshew of Goldsboro; five sisters, Dolly Ellis and her husband, Billy of Snow Hill, Stella Minshew of Snow Hill, Pauline Strickland and her husband, Buddy of Goldsboro, Eula Faucette and her husband, Kenneth of Rosewood and Barbara Minshew of Mississippi; three grandchildren, Beth, Brandon and Mackenzie; one great-grandchild, Bailee; a special pet, Rascal; a special sister-in-law, Soundra Brown of Rosewood; special friends, Braxton and Doris Rouse of Seven Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by one son, Tony Eugene Sullivan.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service and other times at the residence.
