MOUNT OLIVE -- Joseph Carlton "Buddy" Melton, 53, 190 Hunting Club Road in the Scott's Store community, died Sunday morning at his home.
The funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with burial following in Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery, Warsaw.
Mr. Melton is survived by his wife, Kim L. Melton; a son, Adam Lee Melton of South Carolina; five daughters, Tammy Renee Melton of Mount Olive, Ashley Nicole Edmundson of Fayetteville, Stephanie Ann Page Edmundson and Tiffany Dawn Bernal, both of Mount Olive, Christine Rose Edmundson of Fayetteville; three sisters: Barbara and Martha Kay, both of Asheville and Brenda of Jacksonville; and 10 grandchildren.
His parents, Carlton and Carrie Nolan Melton; and a sister, Linda Cruse Field, preceded him in death.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers are welcome, or donations to the funeral home will be appreciated by the family.
