LEMUEL D. HARPER

STANTONSBURG -- Mr. Lemuel Dawson Harper, 64, passed away Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Harper Dawson Cemetery located on Highway 58 North of Snow Hill with the Rev. Doug Nalley officiating the service.

A native of Greene County, he was born Nov. 23, 1943, the son of the late Lemuel Alton Harper and Louise Hemby Harper.

Lemuel was a member of Davis Grove Baptist Church, the Snow Hill Moose Lodge and owned and operated Lemuel's Construction Corporation.

In addition to his parents, Lemuel was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Harper Norvell.

His surviving family includes his children, Kimberly Harper Braxton and husband, C.L. of Grifton, Pamela Harper Smith and husband, Mike of Pikeville, Allan Harper and wife, Renate of Stantonsburg, and Michael Shane Harper and wife, Virginia of Swansboro; a sister, Brenda Harper Cherry of Kenly; a brother, Frank H. Harper of Stantonsburg; and grandchildren, Zack Braxton, Molly Braxton, Lindsey Harper, Tyler Harper, Emily Smith and Garrett Smith.

The family received friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill and other times at the home of Allan Harper, 5855 Highway 58 N., Stantonsburg, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davis Grove Baptist Church, c/o Irma Edmundson, 4144 Fort Run Road, Snow Hill, N.C., 28580.

Arrangements are being handled by Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service of Snow Hill.
