KENNETH R. COLEY

Mr. Kenneth Ray Coley, 66, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Ray," 2085 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, departed this life on Monday, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, 514 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, with Minister Tony Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery-North, 1191 Old Grantham Road. A viewing will be held on Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., from 1 to 4 p.m. A wake will be conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ.

Ray was born to the late Rosa Lee Artis on Sept. 7, 1942.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Best Coley, his father, Jacob Scott Coley Sr. and his brother, Billy Arits.

Mr. Coley graduated from Norway High School and was a lifetime member of the Norwayne Alumni and Friends, Inc. Ray was a devoted Fireman with the Nahunta Fire Department and he was employed by the Amerigas in Goldsboro.

Mr. Coley leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Dwight (Marsha) Coley of Fremont; one daughter, Emmely Coley of the home; two granddaughters, Lamara Coley of Fremont and Alisha Coley of Greenville; two brothers, Donald Artis and Jacob Scott Coley Jr. both of Goldsboro; seven sisters, Carol Harris, Annie Doris (Raymond) Barnes, and Janice Artis all of Goldsboro, Billy Jean (John) Birdsong of Indianapolis, Ind.,Bettie Jo Jordan, Tommy Lou Coley and Rena (Nathaniel) Vaughn all of Fremont.

At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at the residence of Ms. Emmely Coley, 2085 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, N.C., 27830.
