BLACK CREEK -- Floyd L. Newsome, 79, died Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Fremont Free Will Baptist Church followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Interment will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
He was a retired food products route salesman.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Barnes Crocker Newsome; daughters, Debbie N. Sullivan (Ricky) of Pikeville, Dana N. Toler (Jimmy) of Siler City, Linda C. Winstead (Cornell) of Kernersville; sons, Dwayne Newsome of Goldsboro, Carlton Crocker (Michelle) of Black Creek and Jerry Crocker (Sara) of Kenly; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin Newsome of Bassett, Va. A daughter, DeeAnn N. Strickland, preceded her father.
