ELIZABETH A. PITTMAN

KENLY -- Elizabeth Askew Pittman went to be with her Lord early Monday morning.

A service to celebrate her life will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member for more than 65 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and received the Lifetime Membership Award. Dr. Richard Glosson, Rev. Andy Bunn and Mr. Franklin Lane will officiate. Interment will be in the Kenly Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born in Kenly on Sept. 25, 1921, to the late A.G. Askew and Willie Baker Askew. Preceding her in death was her husband of over 50 years, Eldridge Pittman.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Kay E. Pittman (Patricia) of Williamston, Robert Pittman of Duluth, Ga., Linda P. Bunn, and Jane P. Thomas (Bruce) all of Pikeville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Ferrell of Raleigh and brother, Ben Askew of Onancock, Va.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 1283 Union Grove Church Road, Fremont, N.C., 27830.

The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
