Died Sept. 16, 2008

STANTONSBURG -- Charles Boykin, 83, died Tuesday.

He was a teacher and coach at the former Nahunta High School, had worked at Patetown-Dixie and was a retired farmer.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Wilson. Interment will follow in Stantonsburg Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Overman Boykin; daughters, Cathy Harrell and Bill of Stantonsburg, Lynn Beamon and Jim of Stantonsburg; Charlene King and Lewis of Wilson, and Barby Cranford and Mike of Stantonsburg; grandchildren, Lauren Brennan, Charlie Harrell, David Harrell, Charles Preston Cranford, Austen King, Parker King, Sara King, Wes Beamon and Haley Beamon; great-granddaughter, Hannah Brennan; sister, Annie Mae Flynn of Wake Forest.

The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
