WILLIE D. SPARKS

Willie D. Sparks, 74, passed away suddenly on Thursday evening at his home.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

Willie was born in Clarksburg, W.V. on March 30, 1934, to the late William Sparks and Ora McDaniels Sparks. He was employed as a clerk for the United States Postal Service. Willie served his country in the United States Air Force.

Willie is survived by his wife, Shirley Verg Sparks; his children, Bill Sparks and special friend, Darlene Belden of Goldsboro, Debra S. Hines and husband, Frank, of Dudley, Bobby Sparks and wife, Vickie, of Yorktown, Va., Clay Sparks and wife, Angela, of Spokane, Wash., and Brian Sparks and wife, Angie, of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Will Sparks, Jeff and Amy Sparks, Sherri and Trey McKee, Philip Hines, Sara Sparks, Lindsey Sparks, Monica Sparks, Brandon Sparks, Cyla Sparks, Ashley Sparks, Emily Sparks, Jennifer Sparks and Jacob Sparks; and his great-grandchildren, Brittney Sparks, Kayla Sparks, Brayden McKee, Tyler McKee, and Kellen Sparks. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Sparks and wife, Francis, of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clay Sparks and Max Sparks.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home, 106 Sheridan Road, Goldsboro.
