PIKEVILLE -- Steven Lynn Prosser, 55, passed away on Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Whitfield and Crystal McCullen, and Jack Boyette officiating. Full military honors will follow on the front lawn.

Steven was born in Pilot Rock, Ore. on March 17, 1953, to Wilford Elmer "Bud" Prosser of Pilot Rock, Ore. and the late Delia Gambill Prosser. He was retired from the United States Air Force.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Cathy S. Prosser of Pikeville; his step-daughters, Sonja DeBois of Goldsboro, Michele Head Wiggins and husband, David, of Utah, and Stephanie Head Benton and husband, Paul, of Pikeville; his step-son, Robert Blackman of Pikeville and Anthony W. Head of Pikeville; his brother, Terry Prosser of Vaccaville, Calif.; and his grandsons, Jordan Blackman and Harold Benton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Foundation of Organ Donation, 5350 Poplar Ave., Suite 430, Memphis, Tenn. 38119.

The family will greet friends following the memorial service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 143 Merrywood Drive, Goldsboro or at the home of Sonja DeBois, 103 E. Lockhaven Drive, Apt. D, Goldsboro.
