NANCY P. BAUCOM

ASHEBORO -- Nancy Pearce Baucom, 84, of Goldsboro died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at the home of her daughter following a long illness.
Mrs. Baucom was a native of Berwick, Penn. She spent much of her life as a community volunteer, including scouting, the Association for Retarded Citizens, and most recently with the Wayne Opportunity Center, Charles B. Aycock Historic Birthplace, and Kirkwood in Goldsboro. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro, where she was an honorary life member of the Women of the Church, an Elder and Logos table parent, a member of the Memorials Committee, and an office volunteer.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Howard Baucom, and two daughters, Debbie Baucom of Goldsboro and Susan Baucom Diamaduros of Charlotte.
She is survived by her son, Bob Baucom and his wife, Becky, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; daughter, Marta Baucom Sanders and her husband, Harry, of Asheboro, N.C.; 2 grandsons and 5 granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held today, Aug. 10, 2008 at 5 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro with Dr. Drew Clark officiating. The family will receive friends following the service from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in McChesney Hall at the First Presbyterian Church.
