JESSE R. PHILLIPS

PRINCETON -- Jesse Ralph Phillips, 84, of 3006 Progressive Church Road, Princeton, died Wednesday evening.

He was born January 19, 1924 and was the son of the late James Ruffin and Annie Crocker Phillips. Mr. Phillips was an associate of Arnold Wilbert Vault Company for 35 years where he serviced the installation of vaults at the burial site. He was a faithful member of Progressive Presbyterian Church. He served his church as Sunday School superintendent for many years, and he was also deacon and choir director.

The funeral will be 7 p.m. tonight at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Percy Coleman and the Rev. Lewis Baker officiating. The committal service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Progressive Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Pearl Capps Phillips; his son, Tom Pilkington of Princeton; his grandsons Brian Pilkington and wife, Ann "Fuzzy", of Princeton and Shane Pilkington and wife, Jessica, of Princeton; and his great-granddaughter Katelyn Pilkington.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. tonight at Casey Funeral Home and immediately following the funeral service.
