VICTOR 'BILL' PIPKIN

Nov. 29, 1927-June 6, 2008

Victor G. "Bill" Pipkin, 80, of Goldsboro went to be with his Lord Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center following a lengthy illness. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The Revs. Tom Dorman and Willard Hardison will officiate.

Mr. Pipkin was born on Nov. 29, 1927, to the late Lois and Ethel Pipkin. He was a carpenter until he retired and enjoyed fishing, working with his hands and gardening. He was a devoted family man and never turned down someone in need. He had an "open door policy" with family and friends alike.

He is survived by four sons; Rodney Pipkin and his wife, Barbara, of Pikeville, Ronnie Pipkin of Kenly, Johnny Pipkin of the home, Donnie Pipkin and Lynn Crow, of Goldsboro; two daughters, Brenda Carter and her husband, Douglas, of Dudley and Darlene Stafford and her husband, Joseph, of Goldsboro; three brothers, Mark Pipkin, Edgar Pipkin, and Clifton Pipkin; sister, Lois Edwards of Bethel, and Mary Pierce; five grandchildren, Richard Carter, Kira Pipkin, Amy Capps, Ronnie Pipkin Jr., and Rodney Pipkin Jr., and one great-grandchild, Alex Carter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wesley Pipkin, Needham Pipkin, and Jimmy Pipkin; and a sister, Agnes Melvin.

The family will receive friends at the home of Darlene Stafford at 105 N. Martin Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
