LARRY STEVE COLLINS

Larry Steve Collins, 60, of the Rosewood Community, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at his home surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 125 John St., Goldsboro; Dr. Glenn Phillips and the Rev. Rose Hicks will officiate. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church, Goldsboro. He also enjoyed Christian fellowship at Ebenezer United Methodist Church and Princeton Baptist Church.

Larry enjoyed dancing and was an active member of Sugarfoot Shag Club prior to his illness. He was blessed with many close friends and fellow "shaggers" in several area shag clubs.

Larry retired from BellSouth (now AT&T) and was employed by Telics of Winston-Salem until his death. He was greatly admired by many co-workers in both the Goldsboro and Oak Park (Raleigh) BellSouth offices.

He is also survived by three grandsons, Kearney Allen Collins, Colton James Waters and Gavin Reece Waters.

In addition to his family, Larry is survived by his beloved "brothers and sisters in Christ," J.R. and Jackie Barbee, Brian and Suzanne Mitchell, John and Ann Dukay, Thomas and Dawn Potter; beloved neighbors, Harold, Patti and Molly Kilpatrick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Youth Fund, 3959 W. U.S. 70 Hwy., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
